Midway Just Disappeared - World Imagrey

I was just checking out Midway Islands in the Pacific the other day with the World Imagery data layer and within the first 12 hours suddenly half of the close up imagery disappeared and was replaced with image not available tiles.
Then a couple of days later I went back to check again and the two islands have now completely disappeared from the World Imagery layer, and have been replaced with blue ocean.
Does anyone know if there's a reason for this or if there's someone who can be contacted to have Midway placed back on the World Imagery map?

I'm not sure what happened there, the source is hosted on Esri servers, maybe they are updating something. I would try using one of the alternative sources under Worldwide data, like the MapQuest OpenAerial source which of course has the Midway islands.

unfortunately I need the 59cm pix images from the ESRI stuff. The open aerial stuff is only 15m? per pixel as once you zoom in there are just gray tiles. I hope ESRI sorts it out, they've messed up a few areas over the last couple of years.

You could of course use the DigitalGlobe stuff, but it's premium imagery so not free if you need to export it.

It was there just a week ago. I just checked on the world imagery ESRI server http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=d802f08316e84c6592ef681c50178f17¢er=-71.055499,42.364247&level=15 and midway is there, so I'm wondering where it could have gone in GM? Would it be a different server at ESRI perhaps?
btw it's only for a home personal use research project, so I have zero budget to buy commercial data. I am just hoping that ESRI puts Midway back on the map. -
Dean,
It's the same source it's always been, but it's also one for me. Have you sailed out to Midway and made sure it didn't sink into the ocean? Perhaps it is the island from Lost and moves around (spoiler alert)
Thanks,
Mike

Funny you say that. I was watching Lost last night (I missed watching the series years ago) and figured out what it was all about by episode 12 I'm sure it'll come back into their data again soon, at least I hope it does.
