I have ENCs which always display the water areas filled with cyan in Global Mapper. I have never set the color to cyan. When I interrogate the features (usually around 3-4) they all are identified as "Unknown Area Type" with "default style" . I have the default fill pattern for "Unknown Area Type" set to No Fill. So it should be white as that is my background color.

Is this a particular issue with ENCs? I am loading them via a catalog if that matters. I am using NOAAs ENCs if you want to test them.

Are you sure there isn't an Isobath area the at the location? Typically it is the Isobath areas that result in the different shades of blue depending on depth.

Thanks Mike. I think I figured out the issue. The isobath area features load with "Feature Style" set to "Specify Style" not "Default Style", as I was expecting. So changing the latter would have no effect. I was able to manually change the isobath color in a single loaded ENC and it worked (not sure why it failed when I made post 1). Now the question is, do I have to select all the isobath areas and manually change them to "Default Style" each time I load them? Or can I change this behavior in GM so that it uses the Default feature style?

The S-57 importer does auto-assign custom colors to Isobath areas based on the depth level. I have updated this so that if you have customized the Isobath area style on the Area Styles tab of the Configuration dialog that style will be used rather than the auto-assigned Isobath coloring. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper13.zip with the latest changes for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v13.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v13 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper13_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

Thanks Mike. I am downloading and will test it this afternoon. I will let you know if I discover any issues.
