When working with TIFF (uncompressed, no overviews) or JPEGs (many) alot of times it take long time to redraw. Since I can not use a MapCatalogue, add overviews or use another format sometimes I just have to work with these files. There would be a nice feature if you could add an abort function for the redraw (For instance if you press ESC). It would then stop the redraw and not draw anything else untill you zoom/pan again.

I went ahead and added a check for the ESC key and several other operations (like clicking when in the zoom tool or using the keyboard navigation keys) occasionally during a raster draw so now you should be able to interrupt the drawing during the rendering of a single layer and not just between layer renders.

I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper11.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v11.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit version, there is a new build available at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper11_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
