Optimal GEOTiff JPG compression Gridding size
I need to find the optimal gridding size for GEOTiff JPG compression.
I produce maps to a program (FalconView) and there is a huge different in load time depending on the gridding spacing used.
Gridding under about 6000x6000 has ok load time but grid above this result in slow loading time.
Is specific to the program or the format?

That would be specific to FalconView. I don't know the internals of how it works, so I couldn't really say what the cause of the slowdown is.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Sounds like memory issue. You might try using TIFF without JPG or LZW compression.
