Hi Mike!

Any chance that you will be supporting NITF export. Currently use GDAL, but would be nice to have in GM.

    Scott,

I can probably get that added, it doesn't look like it will be too hard.

    Thanks,

I have completed a first pass at NITF export in Global Mapper. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper10.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v10.xx installation folder to give it a try.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    I tested this version.

But when exporting JPG SAT images from a Catalog I receive this error:

    nitferrorrb9.th.jpgthpix.gif

When exporting very small areas the map is exported successfully.

But when opening in FalconView it looks strange .

Can you provide me with the data that you are trying to export that results in the error?

For the successful export, if you load the .ntf file back into Global Mapper does it display ok?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Files are uploaded to your FTP.

Yes the NTF map loads fine back into Global Mapper.

I added the overview file that FalconView creates.

    Can GM creates this file?

I am new to the NTF format. Why is it better then GEOTiff in JPEG compression?

    Thomas,

Thanks for the files. I was able to fix the problem exporting very large datasets to NITF. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper10.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v10.xx installation folder to give it a try.

I'm still not sure why FalconView can't read the small one, you might try the big one and see if it works better.

You could export a GeoTIFF file from Global Mapper to generate the overview.

If your application supports GeoTIFF I would use that. I would only use NTF if that is all that you application supports.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
