calcaulation of summary statistics for points within an area

Hello there-

I'm just getting started in Global Mapper (GM; v15 in this case), so I could just be overlooking the obvious. However, I haven't been able to find a way for GM to present summary statistics (for instance, the mean) of Z values for individual points in one layer that are within a defined area/polygon of a different layer. In this case, the Z values are not true elevations, but concentrations...though I don't think that should matter.

One work around has been to grid the points and then use the Calculate Elevation/Slope Stats menu... but I would prefer to not deal with the interpolation and just get values for the raw point data. Exporting the attributes associated with the points in the area is another solution, though I'm hoping there is a simple way to get the values from within GM.

Is this possible?

Thanks!
